Week of 9/4/2020

This is going to be a BIG week!!!  Here it is at a glance… the end of our strength cycle with retests of our 2RM’s for deadlift, back squat, and strict press.  Monday (Labor Day) will start out strong with the hero WOD Murph.  This won’t be our typical big production like when we do Murph on Memorial Day but it is an opportunity for those who want a Murph score without coming right out of lock-down.  Friday will be a 9/11 memorial tribute workout.  Then we will be finishing the week out with a big bang.  Saturday is the Develop Within in-house competition!  It’s going to be a huge week with PR bells ringing all over the place!  We can’t wait!!!

Now here is what you need to know about the logistics of the week.  First of all, the workouts will be a little lighter this week so not to overwork all of you with what’s going on.  Here is what I need you to do.  Set a goal.  That’s right.  What do you care about most?  Do you want a good Murph time?  Want to see those strength gains?  Are you competing in Develop Within and want to really showcase your skills?  If you go maximum effort on each of these things’ odds are you will be beat up by the end of the week.  Please set a goal for yourself going into the week so that you don’t overload yourself and risk injury.  If there are any questions or if you need help with this please reach out to a Coach for guidance.

DEVELOP WITHIN

Last week before the comp!  I can’t wait!  

Please note for anyone that is not participating in the comp all regular classes on Saturday 9/12 are canceled.  Please feel free to swing on by and cheer on your fellow athletes.  It’s gonna be epic!!!

Holiday Schedule:

Monday 9/7: We will be doing “Murph” once again since most of us were just coming out of lock-down over Memorial Day.  Let’s get some solid Murph times!  This will be a friends and family free event so please pass along.

Tuesday 9/8: Regular Class Schedule Resumes

Here are the lifts of the week:

  • Monday – Labor Day!  We will be doing “Murph” This is a free friends and family event.
  • Tuesday – Deadlift 2RM
  • Wednesday – Strict Press 2RM
  • Thursday – BSQT 2RM
  • Friday – “9/11” Tribute Workout
  • Saturday – Develop Within Competition – Gym is closed for regular classes.  Come by to cheer on your fellow athletes!
  • Sunday – Open Gym
