Week of 3/24/2024

The first stage of the Open is over, and we wanted to give a special congrats to 7 CFD athletes who made it to Quarterfinals! Congratulations to Coach Courtney, Mari, Marcus, Danny, Coach Katie, Coach Chris and Coach Amanda! We’re proud of you! You may see and hear about some of these athletes doing the Quarterfinals workouts at CFD toward the end of April β€” cheer them on and give them a few words of encouragement, the support of a gym can make a world of difference. πŸ™‚

Chris says this every year at the end of the Open, but take some time to reflect on what went well this year, and what didn’t. Be honest with yourself and those around you β€” that’s how you grow. Practice virtuosity in everything you do. You know the areas you succeed in and the areas that need work, both inside and outside the gym. Pick one of those areas and be relentless about improvement. If you need direction, reach out to a coach anytime. We care (more than you know), and we’re here to help. πŸ™‚

We have a few events coming up that several CFD members are participating in, including the Milwaukee Half Marathon April 13, and Festivus Games in Waukesha April 20. If you’re interested in cheering on our members during these events, mark your calendars! We’re excited to see you all compete.

This week, we will have our Leading Ladies Week, which honors National Women’s Month with a week full of Classic Female Benchmarks and some new NCFIT Female Benchmarks. It looks like a fun, hard week of programming, I can’t wait!

In April, we will start a 7-week strength cycle, highlighting OHS/front squat and bench press. We will also begin Murph prep. Can you believe Memorial Day is just two months away? Summer is inching closer! Keep those pull-ups and push-ups fresh. πŸ™‚
