Week of 3/10/2024

From all of the coaches at CFD, thank you for coming together this past week and wearing pink during Friday’s workouts. Our hearts are with Coach Heidi, Kent and Roxie as they navigate this unimaginable hurt. If anyone would like to help out the Kilbourns with a bit of financial assistance, please Venmo, PayPal or give cash to Kelly by this week Wednesday. Thank you, CFD. You all are the absolute best community.

We saw another cardio workout return for 24.2! Pacing was key on this one — it was difficult to maintain. We’re constantly working on building our cardiovascular endurance with longer, engine-building WODs, and this one was a great test of where you’re at. I found myself wishing that workout would have been over at 15 minutes — this tells me my body could use a bit more running. Remember, running isn’t only about running in CrossFit — it’s about building your capacity to do work over a longer period of time. Warmer weather is coming soon, which makes running in Wisconsin a bit more enjoyable. Don’t forget to take advantage of those nice days! 🙂 And doubles … was this a kick in the butt to improve your doubles? 😉 Remember, if you have doubles, do doubles. The only way you get better is by doing them consistently. They get easier with continued effort, I promise!

We’re continuing to see new faces from the current On Ramp filter into our classes — it’s exciting to see new people begin their CrossFit journey! I can’t help but feel excited for them. This just might be the best decision they’ve ever made for themselves. Thank you for continuing to welcome them into our home!

24.3 is coming up, the last of this year’s Open workouts. My guess would be there will be TTB, pull-ups and/or some kind of max lift! One more week to compete and then it’s back to regular training (the best part). 🙂 I’m excited to see you all throw down this last workout!! The energy and smiles during the Open WODs simply can’t be beat.

Have a great week, CFD.
