MILE CHALLENGE

WE DID IT! We made it through 30 days of 1 mile everyday! Congratulations to all who signed up and were disciplined to finish this!! You made a commitment to yourself and you did not let anything get in your way! Some days were easier than others and you pushed through and finished! You should be very proud of yourself! Now use this disciple in your lives everyday!

OSO COLLARS

There is one day left for the opportunity to get a pair of OSO collars!!! Right now we have 3 people who are very close!

Re-Sign your contract

You should know by now that we pride ourselves on our transparency and clear communication.  In an effort to keep it going we would like you (we’re asking everyone, not singling anyone out) to re-sign your contract with CFD.  We want to make sure everyone knows our policies and we are on the same page.  These policies are posted on the front desk at the gym and available to review at any time in the Wodify app as long as you have an active membership with our gym. You can re-sign your contract by following the link in the email you received on Friday, or anytime you are at CFD, just ask the coach for help. As always, reach out if there are any questions.

THE CFD OPEN!!!!


Welcome to the Open Season!  

For our newbies – the CrossFit Open consists of 5 workouts spread across 5 weeks that aim to find the fittest people in the world.  Last year over 429,000 people participated in the Open. This is the 10th year of the CrossFit Open! 

I know many of you will ask, “Why should I do the Open?  There’s no way I’m the fittest in the world?” For 99.99% of the world that is true, and that is why we are running a CFD OPEN!!!

In the CFD Open, you’ll have the ability to contribute to a team every single week no matter your fitness score.  Go above and beyond in your spirit or performance and you can contribute even more!

So, what exactly is the CFD Open?

It all starts with you registering for the Open via this link:

(Yes, you need to sign up for the CrossFit Open to be able to compete at the CFD Open!)

Every Friday, in classes, we will be performing the Open WODS!  This is where the fun starts: we will have a few different teams of CFD members and you will be put on one of those teams.  You will compete against other CFD teams!!! You will have the ability to contribute to your team every single week no matter your fitness score.  Go above and beyond in your spirit or performance and you can contribute even more! 

The Team Captains will be the coaches and will have a DRAFT NIGHT and will choose you awesome and fun folks to be on their teams.  After the Draft, teams can recruit more people to be on their teams up to October 13, this is when the first workout needs to be completed.    

Once teams are set and workouts begin, it’s quite simple.  

How to Earn Points

+1 point = you simply do the workout at CrossFit Develop on Friday during class time or Open Gym and submit your score!  (maximum one point per athlete per workout)

+1 point = Each team that works out together gets additional points for their team.  Does most of your team come at 5am but you WOD at 5pm??? Join them at 5am and earn more points! Each member earns 1 point.

+3 points = Top 1:  Every male and female member who has the top score at CrossFit Develop for each workout (RX and scaled) gets an extra 3 points for their team.  

+1 point = you attend a minimum of 3 classes each week of the Open (yes, the Friday classes count!) 

+5 points = The team with the most noise, pride and PRESENCE each week will receive 5 bonus points.  

There will be additional ways to add points each week… stay tuned for more fun ways!!!!

When?

All classes on Friday will do the Open WOD.  You can attend any class and score points for your team.   Of course, we will have a BIG “Friday Night Lights” every Friday!   If you can’t attend on Friday, the only other time to be judged is during “Last Chance Qualifier” on Sunday during open gym.  

We will also try to plan a workout on Thursday night, after a Live Announcement of the workouts. There will be no time to plan or strategize, so it will be exciting. We will also try to plan a workout on a Sunday Funday, do the workouts and then go out for brunch. Stay tuned on Facebook for updates and dates!
