Week of 8/6/2021

Not much going on this week besides a great week of training.  August is going to be a HEAVY month, pun intended, as we come to the end of our strength cycle and continue to go short with our workouts.  Oh, and going heavy would not feel quite right without the reappearance of Cali-Bear!  Oh, yeah.  We have that to look forward to this month.  Keep taking your recovery seriously and moving with good form.  This strength cycle is starting to feel a little bit repetitive but the benefits will show in every WOD for the rest of this year.  Keep nailing that form and remember… strength is not weak.

One last thing to mention is that we are very blessed to have a few new members of our coaching staff.  They are going through the onboarding process right now and will be leading classes soon.  This is why you may see several coaches up at the front of class.  Please welcome them.  We are SO HAPPY to have every one of them on board.

Develop Within

That’s right all!  Our internal competition is back!  This year we will be holding Develop Within on October 2nd.  It will be an individual competition with four divisions.  Male/Female both Scaled and Rx.  Block the date off in your calendars!  You won’t want to miss this one!!!  Behind the scenes things are really starting to come together for this one! ?

There will be more details to come but for now just set the date aside.  We will have a minimum participant requirement for each division in order to make this event happen.  We will once again be accepting a cash only entry in order to keep this event as cheap as possible for all of you.  No matter what level you are at there will be some way you can participate in this great event.  We will be in need of athletes, competitors, and judges.  This is a great time to push your limits and understand what you are truly capable of in the comfort of your own gym and with your CFD family.

  • Thursday – Active Recovery
  • Friday – Deadlift
  • Saturday – Core work! Oh… and some rope climbs a.k.a. more core work. ?
