Week of 11/21/2021

It’s here.  Like it or not… it’s here.  The holiday season is upon us.  Please keep your eye out on our holiday schedule shown below and posted at the gym.

Enjoy your time and this season with family and friends.  Feels great to be a little closer to normal this year.  Rest, relax, and recover.  You’ve all earned it!

Before I let you go, we are so very blessed to be welcoming another amazing coach onto our coaching staff at CFD! Please help me in welcoming Amanda Harvey!!! Amanda is one of the kindest people that we’ve met! She is an amazing mom and teacher, she treats and loves all kids as her own. She is super fun to have around and has a great eye for detail.  This coupled with her strong need to help people will make her a great Coach! You can look forward to seeing her lead CrossFit Kids classes in the near future.  Welcome aboard Amanda!  We’re SO HAPPY to have you.

In Amanda’s own words:

I have always been an “active” person. From playing on sports teams when I was younger, to running and getting back in shape after having 3 kids,  to going to fitness centers and exercise classes, it has also been a part of my life.  When life with 3 kids and a career as a full time teacher got busy, CrossFit was one of the things that kept me going no matter how tired or busy I was. The community is so welcoming and there is so much support wherever you are in your fitness journey. There is also something so great about having a community to hold you accountable during the craziness of life.  CrossFit is full of little challenges and victories and that is so rewarding. My favorite thing about CrossFit is that I can share it with my family. CrossFit is something we can ALL do together. 

I feel blessed to be a teacher in the surrounding Community and to be able to share with kids the importance of making healthy food choices and being active. There are so many benefits to kids being active. What could be better than building your confidence, making friends, becoming disciplined, strengthening your body, and being healthy? It felt like an easy decision to put two things that I am passionate about in life together- teaching kids and CrossFit. That is why I became a CrossFit Kids coach!

Holiday Lifestyle Challange

We will once again be running a holiday lifestyle challenge between Thanksgiving and the New Year.  This will be very similar to what we ran last year.  This is an awesome way to make some adjustments to your diet and stay on track during the holiday season.  Please keep your eye out for more information.

Holiday Schedule

  • Tuesday 11/23 – Normal Class Schedule
  • Wednesday 11/24 – 5:30pm class canceled
  • Thursday 11/25 – 7:45am and 9am Holiday WOD, free to friends and family, Member social afterwards
  • Friday 11/26 – Gym Closed all day, enjoy the rest and recovery day with friends and family
  • Saturday 11/27 – Normal Class Schedule Resumes

Here are the lifts of the week:

  • Monday – Deadlift “Diane”
  • Tuesday – METCON
  • Wednesday – METCON
  • Thursday – “Mashed Potatoes”
  • Friday – Gym Closed all day, enjoy the rest and recovery day with friends and family (“Overdraft”)
  • Saturday – WOD
  • Sunday – Open Gym
