Registration for the 2025 CrossFit Open is here! π No matter your ability, age, or experience level, we all will gather on the same starting line for three weeks of community, inspiration and fitness. Please join us Feb. 27 through March 17! We’ll once again be hosting the Open workouts during our Friday classes at CFD (Feb. 28, March 7 and March 14). Register for the Open here: https://games.crossfit.com/ (Questions about the Open? Reach out to a coach anytime.)
Every year, the Open gives athletes of all stages of fitness a chance to see how they stack up against hundreds of thousands of participants from around the world. But it also provides an opportunity for both participants and affiliates to celebrate and reflect on how far theyβve come and how far they can go.
This year will be my 7th year registering for the Open β 2024 was a bit of a setback for me ;), but that absolutely will not stop me from continuing my streak of participating. Life happens, and it’s ok if scores reflect that. That is reality! Progress over perfection, right? The Open is about your personal commitment to health and fitness, cheering on your friends, setting goals for yourself and embracing the CrossFit community with a grateful heart. Remember β if you’re even stepping foot in a CrossFit gym, you’re already amongst the fittest people in your communities. Please consider signing up this year, attacking these three hard workouts with the CFD community by your side, and above all, showing gratitude for what your body can do. If you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate, you’re already winning. π
Let’s take a look at this week’s workouts …
We are creeping into February and there is no stopping us now. For Monday, it’s a core blaster of a chipper with some high heart-rate movements mixed in. On Tuesday, we bring back another “On the Minute” workout of two movements. These are great for building capacity, pacing and maintaining intensity across sets. Now it’s the middle of the week and we have a lung and leg burner for Wednesday. Athletes will be tasked with keeping a push pace effort while grinding through fast rounds of biking and squats. Thursday will be a reset kind of day where we can “just move” and get a good sweat going. The Open workout for Friday will be 20.3 and this one was one of the tougher workouts for its high demand on the mid-line. For Saturday, we are attacking a solid partner chipper workout.
Have a great week, CFD!
