CrossFit Kids is here! Starting this week Thursday at 6:15pm we will be offering CrossFit kids.
What is CrossFit kids you ask?
CrossFit Kids is not simply a scaled-down version of CrossFit. It is an entirely different version of CrossFit, geared and designed for a special population and the specific developmental needs of that population. (Neurological, cognitive, motor, etc.) CrossFit Kids is a strength and conditioning program that is specifically designed for kids and helps them develop a lifelong love of fitness. In a group setting, children participate in fun and engaging workouts that deliver measurable results and prepare them to be well-rounded athletes and people. CrossFit Kids workouts consist of constantly varied, functional movements. That can be adjusted for any participant at any level.
CrossFit Kids emphasizes good movement throughout childhood. Consistent good mechanics translates to physical literacy, enhanced sports performance and fewer sports injuries for kids. Research indicates that exercise is beneficial to cognitive function, which means CrossFit Kids can have a positive impact on children’s academic achievement.
Classes are open for all kids ages 7 to 12. Reach out with questions. Let’s all get functionally fit together and improve not only our quality of life but our kids too! Best parts is the normal 6:15pm class will be going on at the same time. So come on in with your kids and get fit together! Can’t wait to see you there!
J-cup pull-ups are back. We are reinstalling this great scale with a subtle modification. Your coaches will be showing this in classes for the next few weeks. Please everyone stay strict on yourselves, put in the work, and get your first strict pull-up! I know all of you can do it!
Last but not least, the Open is coming! Don’t know if you’ve heard, but the CrossFit Open will be here in 30 days. What is the Open? It is a five week long celebration of our fitness. We will be tested, pushed beyond our limits, and allowed to engage in great community events. We will use this as a line in the sand to measure our fitness at this exact point in time. It’s a fun event every year and I cannot wait to hold it at CFD this year. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks CFD!
And with that… here we go… Week 1 CFD!!! Get some!
